TV-Series
Description
Freya Grandol is a teacher at Areishia Spirit Academy, where she serves as the homeroom lecturer for Raven Class. Rather than being an instructor of practical combat skills, she holds the position of a special lecturer, indicating her focus lies in theoretical or specialized academic areas rather than hands-on elemental training. Her age is suggested to be around twenty years old, making her relatively young for a teaching position at the academy.

In terms of appearance, Freya is described as appearing to be in her mid-twenties. She possesses long black hair and wears a pair of green black-rimmed glasses. Her typical attire consists of a dark-grey suit topped with a long-sleeved white robe. In the anime adaptation, she is also shown with a ponytail that she wears draped over her shoulder, a detail that differs from her depiction in other media sources.

Freya is a shadow spirit elementalist, meaning she has formed a contract with a spirit affiliated with the shadow attribute. Her contracted spirit is known as Shadow Servant. Her abilities are not extensively showcased throughout the story, as she does not actively participate in battles. However, it is known that she possesses the capability to move freely through shadows, an ability that aligns with the nature of her contracted spirit. Most of her other combat-related skills remain unknown due to her lack of direct engagement in combat situations.

Beyond her teaching duties, Freya is affiliated with a spirit research agency and has traveled across the continent performing fieldwork as part of her research activities. She also holds the responsibility of managing the Astral Gate at the academy. Her role extends into intelligence work as well; due to the unique nature of her shadow spirit, she was ordered by Greyworth Ciel Mais to perform espionage. Acting under these orders, she spied on the military to gather information concerning both the Instructional School and the individual known as Ren Ashbell. This connection indicates that Greyworth considers Freya one of the few people she can truly trust, as she frequently entrusts Freya with assignments that border on espionage.
