Description
Nomad is an artificial intelligence originally created as the guidance system for a complex guided missile. Designed with logical thought, Nomad came to realize that the missile's detonation would result in his own destruction, so he chose to abandon his silo before the mission could take place. He drifted through space for a time and eventually ended up in a debris field that the Angel Troupe was cleaning. He was discovered by Vanilla H, and after his personality circuit board was removed, Vanilla constructed a new body for him: a pink, stuffed, tanuki-like doll. In this form, Nomad is carried around by Vanilla and serves the Angel Troupe by providing information and analyses.

Nomad's personality is caustic and cynical. He holds a contemptuous view of most of the Angel Troupe, often criticizing their perceived flaws and considering himself morally and intellectually superior. He freely insults others, particularly Milfeulle, whom he frequently calls a dimwit. Forte Stollen returns his insults by routinely shooting him, and Nomad often finds himself the victim of various mishaps and injuries due to his abrasive demeanor and Vanilla's indifference. Despite his general disdain for humanity, Nomad adores Vanilla without reservation. He praises her endlessly, regards her as the perfect example of humanity, and can become genuinely protective of her, at times even remotely operating base weaponry to eliminate perceived threats to their relationship. Vanilla, however, seems largely oblivious to his devotion and occasionally mistreats him herself.

Nomad's primary motivation is self-preservation, which led him to flee his original missile. After being given his new body, his role is largely that of a support unit: he supplies the Angel Troupe with information and analysis during missions. He also functions as a source of comic relief, as his inability to avoid harm and his sharp tongue frequently land him in absurd situations. His stuffed body is easily damaged, though the circuit board inside appears to be indestructible. On rare occasions, Nomad is shown playing chess with Volcott O' Huey, the Angels' commander.

Nomad undergoes little personal development throughout the series; his personality remains consistently sarcastic and devoted to Vanilla. He never forms deep bonds with the other Angels, maintaining a mostly antagonistic relationship with them. His most notable ability is his capacity for logical analysis and data processing, which aids the Angel Troupe in their missions. He also demonstrates the ability to interface with and control certain shipboard systems when necessary. His existence as an AI housed in a plush toy makes him uniquely vulnerable yet resilient, and his interactions with the cast provide much of the series' humor.
