Description
Celine Jules is a treasure hunter from the village of Marze on the planet Expel, who practices a form of magic known as symbology, making her a Heraldic Sorceress. Her skills as a symbologist allow her to cast spells by drawing on designs, and she is not suited for close-quarters combat, preferring to use her destructive magic to keep monsters at bay while she searches for treasure. At twenty-three years old, she stands 167 cm tall and is known for her striking appearance, which she takes great pride in.
Celine has a bright, cheerful, and free-spirited personality, approaching life with a sense of adventure and a love for new experiences. She is often seen as bubbly and energetic, though this can sometimes come across as childish. Despite her playful demeanor, she is shrewd, calculating, and driven by her goals, which primarily revolve around acquiring wealth and fashion. Her taste in clothing, makeup, and perfume is expensive, and she is seldom seen without fine accessories. She has a tendency to be a bit of a trickster, playfully teasing her friends, and she enjoys flirting, showing a particular interest in the protagonist, Claude, much to the chagrin of the leading female character, Rena. She has a noted fear of bugs, which provides moments of comic relief during the journey.
Motivated by a restless need for adventure and the pursuit of valuable treasures, Celine is always on the lookout for her next big score. She initially encounters Claude and Rena in the town of Krosse. Recognizing Claude’s capability, she cons him into becoming her bodyguard for a treasure hunt in the Cross Cave, falsely claiming that her treasure is connected to the Sorcery Globe they are investigating. After exploring the cave and discovering an ancient book, she decides to accompany the pair on their larger quest, seeing it as a natural extension of her own adventures.
Within the party, her most significant dynamic is with Claude, whom she finds handsome and frequently flirts with, creating a playful rivalry with Rena. While she enjoys teasing her companions, she is a loyal friend and uses her magic to support and protect them in battle. As the story progresses, her motivations expand beyond simple treasure hunting. She grows tired of solving other people's problems, but readily joins her friends when they send out a distress signal. Furthermore, she develops a serious interest in the study of healing symbology, working alongside Rena to unlock its secrets with the goal of spreading its knowledge across Expel.
As a spellcaster, Celine specializes in powerful offensive symbology, particularly of the Fire, Light, Wind, and Thunder elements. One of her earliest and most frequently used spells is Fire Bolt, which she unleashes with an incantation calling upon the King of the Fire World. As she grows stronger, she learns more devastating area-of-effect spells, including Thunder Storm, Eruption, and the powerful Meteor Swarm. Her repertoire also includes support magic like Angel Feather, which raises her allies' combat abilities, and Reflection, which increases the party's defense against spells. Her most powerful techniques include Southern Cross and the legendary spell Eternal Enchantment of Marze, which summons a barrage of ancient symbols to decimate her foes. Despite her fragility compared to physical fighters, her raw magical power makes her an indispensable asset in combat.
