Description
Lord Noi Crezant is the lizard familiar assigned to Yuuhi Amamiya, the Lizard Knight. He possesses a yellowish-green body, a light tan underbelly, and dark orange eyes. Noi exhibits a serious yet cowardly nature, prone to gossip and keen interest in others' affairs and weather patterns. He maintains a strong moral compass, frequently lecturing Yuuhi on ethics and disapproving of both Yuuhi's initial apathy and his later plan with Princess Samidare to destroy the world after stopping the Biscuit Hammer.
Despite his role as a guide, Noi possesses limited knowledge of their mission's specifics, aware only of the world's impending doom and the need to gather other Beast Knights and the princess. This lack of information may stem from memory loss, potentially linked to his death in the previous conflict against the Biscuit Hammer.
Noi's relationship with Yuuhi begins contentiously, marked by mutual disrespect and frequent teasing from Noi, often provoking Yuuhi to retaliate physically by holding him by the tail. Their dynamic evolves into reluctant loyalty. Noi opposes Samidare and Yuuhi's destructive plan and feels guilt over failing to dissuade them. He remains bound to Yuuhi both physically—unable to separate beyond a few meters—and emotionally, choosing not to warn the other knights, perhaps due to cowardice or loyalty. This tether links their physical conditions; when Yuuhi falls ill after river submersion, Noi similarly develops a cold.
Metaphysical rules govern Noi's existence: only those connected to the princess or the knightly cause can perceive or hear him, rendering him invisible and inaudible to others like Yuuhi's teacher and classmates. Though resilient to physical harm, surviving falls from windows or bicycles, his well-being remains partially tied to Yuuhi's state. Functionally, he guides Yuuhi, providing critical mission information and contract terms, including the ability to grant a wish upon formal knighthood acceptance. He leverages this knowledge during pivotal moments, urging Yuuhi to use his wish to heal his terminally ill grandfather despite their fraught relationship.
Throughout the conflict, Noi consistently advocates for saving the world without ulterior motives, serving as a voice of conscience amid the knights' morally ambiguous choices. His guidance continues as the Beast Knights gather and confront the primary antagonist, Animus.
