Description
Akira, who is also known as Goki or Akira Gotou, is one of the main characters from the series. He is the human reincarnation of the ancient Demon God of Protection and Revival, Goki. In his everyday human form, Akira appears as a young boy with dark blue hair and matching blue eyes. He typically dresses in casual clothes, such as a green short-sleeved shirt over a yellow one, paired with beige shorts. When he transforms into his true form as the demon god Goki, he gains blue hair, blue eyes, detailed armor, two horns on his head, pointy ears, and a fang on the right side of his mouth. This form is also referred to as the Blue Lord or the God of Azure Light.
Personality-wise, Goki is portrayed as a very mature, calm, and highly intelligent individual. He is humble, extremely loyal, and known for his compassion. He cares deeply about the feelings of others and responds with empathy, though he can be straightforward and blunt when facing his enemies. In the ancient past, his kind nature and boundless love for mankind were notable, as he willingly became a part of the mortal world, taking a human wife and raising a family. In contrast, his human counterpart, Akira, is initially presented as a timid and fragile child, which makes his heroic actions later in the story surprising to those who know him. His core motivation is the protection of the human race and the world. He has taken an oath to dedicate his entire life to this cause, specifically to protect Chiaki Enno, a descendant of his former master, Ozunu Enno.
In the story, Goki serves as one of Chiaki Enno's guardian deities. He is Zenki's closest comrade and acts as an older brother figure to him, being over 1300 years old. When Chiaki, Zenki, and their friends are in grave danger, a bright light shines from Akira's body, transforming him into Goki. While Zenki often relies on Chiaki to transform and heal, Goki is a free demon who willingly serves the Enno lineage. He does not need Chiaki’s help to transform or heal himself; he possesses the ability to heal and revive himself as long as he has enough energy left, which is a notable ability that sets him apart from his partner.
