TV-Series
Description
Nova, known in the original Japanese series as Yuki Mori, is an officer in the Earth Defense Force who serves aboard the space battleship Argo. She is approximately eighteen years old at the time of her first mission. Nova is described as beautiful, talented, and resourceful, balancing a demanding set of professional duties with a personal relationship that develops over the course of the story.

Nova begins her service as a nurse working under Doctor Sane, attending to the medical needs of the crew. She later takes on additional responsibilities as the radar operator on the Argo's bridge, a role that places her at the center of the ship's operations. Her duties also include performing computer calculations, maintaining crew morale, and joining planetary survey missions to search for food sources. She is as dedicated and capable of duty as any male crew member, showing competence in both medical and technical roles.

Her personality is steadfast, kind, and friendly, with an even-tempered and level-headed demeanor. She is intellectually curious and brave, showing a willingness to face danger and uncertainty. In combat situations she is fierce and composed, while in peacetime she is gentle and nurturing. She possesses an occasional touch of wit and is generally open in her interactions with others.

Nova's motivation throughout the series is rooted in a strong sense of duty to her ship, her crew, and the survival of Earth. She carries out her assignments with professionalism and dedication, whether she is treating the wounded, scanning for enemy ships, or assisting in planetary exploration. At the same time, she values her personal connections, particularly her growing bond with Derek Wildstar.

Her key relationship is with Derek Wildstar, the deputy captain and later acting commander of the Argo. She falls in love with him during their first mission together, though she initially conceals her feelings. Their relationship develops gradually amid the challenges of their journey, and she ultimately marries him. She also works closely with the rest of the senior crew, including Captain Avatar, Mark Venture, and Doctor Sane, serving as a reliable presence on the bridge and in the medical bay.

Over the course of the series, Nova shows considerable personal development. She begins as a nurse who sometimes struggles with the pressures of combat and loss, but she matures into a confident and capable officer who can handle multiple roles under extreme conditions. Her relationship with Wildstar also deepens, and she becomes a loving wife and, later, a mother as the story progresses beyond the original series.

Notable abilities include her medical training and nursing skills, her proficiency as a radar operator, and her competence in planetary survey and analysis. She is also a capable fighter when necessary, able to defend herself and others in combat situations. Her combination of technical skill, medical knowledge, and emotional resilience makes her one of the most versatile members of the crew.
