Description
Queen Starsha, also known as Starsha Iscandar, is the queen of the distant planet Iscandar and the figure whose offer of aid sets into motion the central journey of the Star Blazers story. She belongs to the Iscandarian royal family and has two younger sisters, Yurisha and Sasha. From her world, roughly 148,000 light years from Earth, she learns of humanity's desperate situation after Earth is saturated with deadly radiation from enemy planet bombs, and she decides to intervene on behalf of a species she has never met.
Her personal history is shaped by loss and growing solitude. After her sister Sasha dies in a spacecraft crash on Mars while carrying a vital device, Starsha becomes the only indigenous resident of Iscandar. Around the same time, she discovers Alex Wildstar, the older brother of Derek Wildstar, barely alive after his ship was lost in battle. She nurses him back to health, and the two fall in love. When given the chance to return to his own world, he chooses to remain on Iscandar with her, and the couple eventually have a daughter together, also named Sasha.
