In October of Universal Century 0083, Synapse captains the Albion on a mission to transport two prototype Gundams, the RX-78GP01 Zephyranthes and the RX-78GP02A Physalis, to the Torrington Base in Australia for gravity testing. The situation spirals out of control when Zeon ace pilot Anavel Gato of the Delaz Fleet steals the nuclear-capable Physalis.
Well aware that he can expect little guidance or support from the Federation's upper ranks due to the secretive nature of the Gundam Development Project and the political minority status of his direct superior, Admiral John Kowen, Synapse is often forced to rely on his own judgment and his own sense of right and wrong.
