Description
Ceylan Jones is one of the four main protagonists in the anime. He is a friendly, goofy, and outgoing individual who often acts as the class clown and a practical joker. This is demonstrated from his first meeting with the main character, whom he greets by throwing a paper airplane at his head. Despite his lighthearted and energetic exterior, Ceylan possesses a more cautious and realistic perspective compared to some of his peers, and he can have a short temper when provoked. He is a boy of elementary school age, characterized by his blue hair and a denim jacket featuring wing designs.
Ceylan's personal journey is defined by an internal conflict between his desire for a normal life and the responsibility of being a hero. Initially, after learning of the dangers involved in fighting the corrupted armies on the planet Quarton, he expresses a strong desire to quit, feeling that the risk to his life is too great. However, his sense of loyalty to his friends ultimately compels him to stay and fight alongside them. This pattern of self-doubt recurs throughout the series, as he often questions his own skills and what he contributes to the team, feeling insecure when comparing himself to the abilities of his fellow Knights. He uses humor as a defense mechanism, appointing himself as the team's fun-maker to mask these deeper feelings of inadequacy. Nevertheless, beneath this insecurity lies a deeply emotional and reliable person who is willing to take serious action when his friends are in danger.
His most significant relationship is with his best friend, Guren Nash. The two are classmates who quickly become inseparable partners in their adventures. He is also close with Toxsa Dalton and Chooki Mason, forming the core group of heroes. His relationships with them are not without friction; he often finds himself in a friendly rivalry with Toxsa and occasionally feels jealous of Chooki's natural talents. Ceylan is very defensive of his contribution to the group, coining the name Ceylan Awesome Jones for himself at one point. He also has a close bond with the guardian Beag, who serves as a mentor to the knights.
As a Tenkai Knight, Ceylan transforms into a blue warrior named Tributon, a form he initially had difficulty achieving due to his tenkai energy not transmitting properly. In this form, he fights with speed and precision, describing himself as Tenkai Speed. His primary weapon is a bowgun or crossbow blaster known as the Hawk Striker, and he also carries a shield. This equipment reflects his role as the team's sniper or archer. His powers are associated with the element of ice. Throughout the series, his abilities evolve significantly as he learns to unlock more powerful forms. He is the second Knight to unlock the Titan Mode, which enlarges him to twice his normal size and equips him with a long bow blaster. Later, he gains access to Elemental Mode, becoming Blizzard Tributon, and eventually awakens his final evolution, Sigma Mode, when he and a friend are in a life-threatening situation.
