Description
Chuuki Hachisuka, also known as Chooki Mason, is one of the main protagonists and is the eldest among the central group of characters, attending the sixth grade. He is approximately twelve to thirteen years old and possesses a distinctive appearance characterized by blonde bangs that transition into a ginger or dirty blonde shade, pulled back into a short ponytail, and bright emerald green eyes. His typical attire consists of a navy blue t-shirt worn under a yellow, sleeveless jacket vest with metal shoulder pads, paired with dark grey athletic sweatpants and white sneakers.
Chuuki is defined by a calm and composed disposition, approaching most situations with a level head. He is highly athletic and enjoys physical challenges, striving to excel in all endeavors, including his schoolwork. This drive to be the best makes him a formidable competitor and the team's primary strategist, often using his intellect to devise plans for the group. Despite his confidence, he becomes notably disturbed when confronted with an activity he cannot master, such as fishing, which tests his patience and skill in an unfamiliar way. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and does not shy away from combat, frequently putting himself at risk to ensure their safety.
As the holder of the core of Lydendor, one of the legendary Tenkai Knights, Chuuki transforms into a warrior affiliated with the element of lightning. In his transformed state, he is known as Raiden Dol or Lydendor Tenkai Lightning Strike. His role in the story is that of a core member of the Tenkai Knights, working alongside his human companions to protect both Earth and the world of Quarton. Initially skeptical about teamwork, he initially rejects an offer from Guren Nash to cooperate, believing he can succeed on his own. Over time, he changes his mind and becomes a reliable and essential part of the four-person team.
His key relationships include a close friendship with Toxsa Dalton, despite their contrasting interests in sports and video games, and Chuuki often finds himself annoyed by but still caring for Toxsa. He shares a leadership dynamic with Guren Nash, often acting as a responsible counterbalance to the more humorous members of the group. He also has a cousin named Kiiro. One of his most significant relationships is with Mr. White, who serves as a mentor; Chuuki is initially skeptical of Mr. White's unorthodox training methods but eventually learns valuable lessons from them.
Throughout the series, Chuuki undergoes notable development, particularly in overcoming personal vulnerabilities. In a pivotal episode, he sacrifices himself to take a curse meant for Toxsa, which causes him to become clumsy and unlucky. Unable to perform his usual feats, he decides to bench himself, but Toxsa gives him a lucky charm to lift his spirits. Touched by the gesture, Chuuki returns to battle, overcomes the jinx through sheer will and his friends' encouragement, and successfully unlocks a more powerful transformation known as Titan Mode. This event showcases his growth from a self-reliant individual to one who understands the strength found in friendship and support.
In terms of abilities, Chuuki is recognized as the brains of the team, possessing the sharpest intellect and greatest capacity for strategic thinking. He is the best athlete among the main characters and excels in nearly every sport. In battle, his Tenkai Knight form wields the power of lightning, and his fighting style is methodical; he often uses analogies from sports to plan attacks. He is also capable of achieving advanced power-ups, including Titan Mode and Elemental Mode as Lydendor Tenkai Lightning Strike. An unusual but notable skill is using the principles of fishing, an activity he personally struggles with, to track and defeat an enemy hidden underground, applying his five senses to secure the victory.
