Description
Celina is a character from the Fusion Dimension who serves as a dimensional counterpart to Zuzu Boyle from the Standard Dimension, as well as to Lulu Obsidian and Rin from the Xyz and Synchro Dimensions respectively. She is a student of Duel Academy, the dominant force of her home dimension, but her path eventually leads her to ally with the Lancers, a group formed to resist Duel Academy's campaign across the dimensions. According to the leader of Duel Academy, Professor Leo Akaba, Celina is a person of central importance to his ultimate plans.

Celina has indigo hair tied into a ponytail with a large yellow ribbon, and green eyes, with a face that is identical to her counterparts. Her initial outfit consists of a red jacket similar to the Slifer Red uniform from Duel Academy, worn over a black shirt, along with a red skirt and brown boots. Like her counterparts, she wears a mysterious bracelet on her arm. After switching clothes with Zuzu and later changing outfits again, she adopts a more casual look consisting of a simple red jacket, a grey skirt, and a black vest over a white shirt. During her participation in the Friendship Cup tournament in the Synchro Dimension, she wears a form-fitting maroon Turbo Dueling suit.

Celina's personality is largely a product of her unusual upbringing. Having been confined within Duel Academy's castle for most of her life and trained almost exclusively in dueling, she is serious-minded and strong-willed but possesses very poor social skills. For instance, she sees nothing wrong with changing her clothes in front of others and initially does not understand that not everyone in the world is a duelist. When she is first introduced, she is intensely focused on proving her worth to Professor Leo Akaba, desperate to demonstrate her strength and be allowed to fight for Duel Academy. This desire makes her proud, short-tempered, and often rude, as she considers herself superior to those around her. She is also reckless and impatient, driven by her pride to act on her own and ignore the warnings of others, a trait that frequently lands her in serious trouble.

At the start of her journey, Celina genuinely believes in the righteousness of Duel Academy and sees its campaign as an honorable mission. She travels to the Standard Dimension on her own accord, intending to hunt down Xyz Dimension remnants, believing that defeating them will earn her the Professor's acknowledgment. However, after encountering Zuzu Boyle and learning the horrific truth about Duel Academy's invasion of the Xyz Dimension—how its soldiers attacked civilians and treated the suffering as a game—her perspective is profoundly shaken. This revelation marks a turning point, leading her to defect from Duel Academy and join the Lancers. Despite this change in allegiance, her core desire to fight strong opponents and prove her skill persists. Her view on dueling itself also evolves; initially seeing it only as a serious battle of strategy, she later learns to find joy in it, particularly during her duel against Yugo, where she begins to understand the more entertaining and fun aspects of the game.

In the story, Celina is a key figure coveted by Duel Academy. She plays a significant role during the Arc League Championship in the Standard Dimension, where she is recruited into the Lancers. She then travels with them to the Synchro Dimension, taking part in the Friendship Cup tournament. Her presence makes her a target for recapture, and she is eventually taken back to the Fusion Dimension and placed under the mind control of the Doktor using a Parasite Monster. Under this control, her personality becomes similar to the cruel and taunting Yuri. She is later freed, but ultimately her physical body perishes when she is reunited with her counterparts to form Ray Akaba, the original person from whom they were all created. Her spirit continues to live on within Zuzu Boyle.

Celina has several key relationships. She shares a unique connection with her dimensional counterparts, particularly Zuzu, with whom she trades clothes to use their resemblance as a disguise. She is guarded by Barrett, a loyal soldier of Duel Academy who accompanies her on her initial mission, and she is a target for the sadistic Yuri. She also has a past connection to Declan Akaba, who helped her in an attempted escape from the Academy three years before the main series. She is recruited into the Lancers by Declan and fights alongside characters like Yuya Sakaki and Shay Obsidian, the latter of whom helps her understand the true cruelty of Duel Academy.

Celina is a formidable duelist who specializes in Fusion Summoning. She uses a Lunalight deck, which features a series of beast-like female warrior monsters with a moon motif. Her ace monsters follow an evolutionary line, starting with Lunalight Cat Dancer, then Lunalight Panther Dancer, and finally the powerful Lunalight Leo Dancer. She is a strategic and consistent player who believes in well-honed tactics, and she has demonstrated a sense of honor in her dueling, once refusing to pick up an Action Card because she suspected it was a trap designed to give her an unfair advantage.
