Description
Allen Kozuki is a resident of Heartland City in the Xyz Dimension and a surviving member of the Resistance, a group fighting against the invading forces of Duel Academy. He is a former student of the Heartland Duel School's Clover Branch, where he and his friend Saya Sasayama studied alongside the renowned duelist Kite Tenjo. One of their teachers was the famous entertainment duelist Yusho Sakaki.

In terms of appearance, Allen is a short boy with distinctive red spiky hair and bushy eyebrows. His teal eyes are complemented by yellow highlights at the front of his bangs. His outfit consists of a maroon long-sleeved shirt, grey pants, and yellow boots, all worn under a purple poncho decorated with a blue shield shape and green diamond patterns. He also possesses a pair of technologically advanced rollerboots with retractable wheels that feature Solid Vision tires, which glow yellow when activated.

Allen has a friendly and light-hearted personality, but the war with Duel Academy has given him a serious and hardened edge. He genuinely cares for the well-being of his friends, especially Saya, whom he often advises not to overwork herself while she helps other refugees. He was deeply saddened to learn of the disappearance of his fellow Resistance member Yuto. Allen holds a significant grudge against his former teacher, Yusho Sakaki, believing that Yusho cowardly abandoned Heartland and his students during the Duel Academy invasion. This deep-seated resentment initially extends to Yusho's son, Yuya Sakaki, whom Allen labels an outsider and refuses to trust, despite their amicable first meeting and Yuya's resemblance to Yuto.

Allen's primary motivation is the protection of his home dimension and the defeat of Duel Academy. He is driven by the pain of losing his comrades, as the Resistance's Spade Branch was completely wiped out in a massive offensive while Yuto and Shay Obsidian were away. He fights to survive and to free his world from the invaders, carrying the weight of having witnessed the kidnapping of Lulu Obsidian and the carding of many of his fellow duelists.

In the story of Arc-V, Allen is introduced when the Lancers, led by Yuya, arrive in the Xyz Dimension. He, along with Shay and Saya, clears up a misunderstanding between Yuya and Kite. Allen then brings the Lancers to the Resistance's hidden sanctuary, the Duel Sanctuary, and reveals the devastating history of the invasion to them. His role becomes more prominent when he and Saya engage in a desperate Tag Duel against the formidable Tyler sisters, Gloria and Grace. During this duel, Allen demonstrates his courage and reliance on his partner, though they are ultimately defeated. After witnessing Yuya's entertainment duel and his victory over the Tyler sisters, Allen's perspective shifts, and he finally accepts Yuya and the Lancers as true comrades. Later, as a gesture of trust and friendship, he gifts his cherished rollerboots to Yuya when the group prepares to depart for the Fusion Dimension.

His key relationships are primarily with his fellow Resistance members. He shares a close, protective bond with Saya, and his admiration for the ace duelist Kite is mixed with frustration over Kite's solitary and reckless path. His relationship with Yuya evolves from hostility based on a family name to respect and alliance.

Allen's character development centers on overcoming his prejudice and bitterness. He learns to separate Yuya from his father's perceived sins and comes to value new allies in the fight against a common enemy. He also has to confront the trauma of the war, such as when Saya reveals her guilt over being too scared to save Lulu, an admission that helps convince Kite to rejoin them.

As a duelist, Allen uses a Railway deck, which focuses on swarming the field with powerful Earth-Attribute Machine-type monsters and Xyz Summoning high-Rank monsters to deliver heavy, direct attacks. Key cards in his strategy include Ruffian Railcar to inflict damage and search his deck, Construction Train Signal Red to protect his monsters, and his ace Xyz Monster, Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf, which allows for direct attacks. He also makes use of spell cards like Limiter Removal to double the attack power of his machines for a decisive, all-or-nothing strike.
