Description
Miharu is a quiet and introverted fifteen-year-old girl with short blue-green hair and violet eyes. She stands approximately 1.62 meters tall and has blood type O. Her background is defined by her upbringing as a test subject for the international organization known as Symbol. From early childhood, she was raised and conditioned as an Invitator, a human subject used in experiments related to the development of a type of Tactical Armor called the Fake, which Symbol fields as a counterpart to the Gowa family’s own TA units. Because of this prolonged exploitation, Miharu displays very little surface emotion and frequently wears a stern or severe expression. This lack of emotional expression is not a natural personality trait but a consequence of her harsh upbringing, yet she retains a core of inner strength and resilience forged by that same difficult environment.

Initially, Miharu is fully aware of her role as a weapon and shows no apparent desire to change it. She pilots the Fake with high skill and serves Symbol’s objectives without protest. Her perspective begins to shift after she encounters Yushiro Gowa, the main pilot of the rival Gowa Tactical Armors. The two share a deep, unexplainable spiritual bond that is rooted in a past life: in a previous era, Miharu and Yushiro were lovers who were manipulated and used as tools, ultimately meeting a tragic end without their feelings being fulfilled. The lily of the valley flower, which appears as the symbol on Miharu’s personal Fake, is a remnant of that past life, a gift Yushiro gave her long ago. Although she has no conscious memory of that history, the connection draws them together in the present.

Throughout the story, Miharu acts as a rival pilot to Yushiro but also as a mirror and eventual ally. She is sent by Symbol to confront him on several occasions, most notably in Belgistan, where they first meet face-to-face. As the series progresses, her encounters with Yushiro cause her to question her place within Symbol. She discovers that the Yushiro she meets is not the original child of the Gowa family—the real Yushiro died years earlier—yet she continues to feel a bond with the current Yushiro. This relationship becomes the catalyst for her personal development: she begins to express genuine emotions and to act out of her own will rather than following orders.

A key relationship in her life is with the Symbol councilor known as Meth, who acted as a father figure and caretaker for her. Despite her detached demeanor, she shares a meaningful connection with him, and her decision to leave Symbol in the final episodes involves a painful farewell to Meth. During this parting, she unconsciously sheds tears, a clear demonstration of the emotional growth she has undergone.

Miharu’s role in the narrative is central to the exploration of reincarnation, destiny, and the ethical use of human test subjects. She is captured by the Gowa family at one point, but eventually breaks free and chooses to side with Yushiro, returning to him after severing her ties with Symbol. Her journey moves from passive acceptance to active choice, culminating in her rejection of the organization that raised her.

Notable abilities include her expert piloting of the Fake Tactical Armor, which makes her a formidable combatant in the field. More significantly, as an Invitator, she possesses a heightened psychic or spiritual sensitivity that enables her to connect with the ancient forces linked to the Gasaraki deity and the Kugai, the original armored being. This ability, shared with Yushiro, allows them to operate advanced mecha beyond normal human capability and to tap into the reincarnation cycle that underpins the series’ supernatural elements. Miharu’s development from a quiet, emotionless tool to a woman capable of making her own decisions and forming deep bonds defines her character arc, and her bond with Yushiro remains the emotional core of her story.
