Description
Haruki Nakano is the only son and the second oldest of the five Nakano siblings. As a first-year high school student, he chose a school close to home primarily so he could return quickly and dedicate time to playing video games, which is his favorite pastime. While he is a diligent student with good grades, he has a notable dislike for physical exercise and sports.

Haruki possesses a very amiable and patient personality, which serves him well as the central figure in a household of four sisters. His days are filled with the constant, often chaotic, energy of his siblings. His older sister, Mutsuki, is academically gifted and responsible around the house, but she reveals a distinctly carefree and scatterbrained side when only Haruki is around. Yayoi, his younger sister by one year, is athletic and prone to teasing him, often using the nickname Baka-Eroki. The youngest are the mischievous twins: Uzuki, who is energetic and fond of playing pranks on him, and Satsuki, who is quieter and shares his interest in anime and manga.

Despite being the target of his sisters' teasing, lectures, and occasional violence, Haruki does not hold any resentment and genuinely loves his family life. He acts as a stabilizer in the Nakano household, patiently covering for Mutsuki’s lapses in concentration and accepting Uzuki’s pranks without excessive annoyance. His primary motivation is to maintain harmony and a sense of normalcy amidst the daily chaos. Although he often finds himself in compromising or troublesome situations, he consistently demonstrates a caring and protective nature, looking out for the well-being of each of his sisters.

His relationships are the core of the story. While Mutsuki is the de facto head of the household managing cooking and chores, Haruki is frequently the one who helps her with her secret shortcomings. Though Yayoi often seems angry at him, she fundamentally wants him to present a proper image and harbors a strong sibling affection that she struggles to express directly. With the twins, he acts as a tolerant older brother, participating in their games and indulging their interests. His relationship with Satsuki is particularly easygoing due to their shared hobbies. While he is generally insensitive to the fact that his sisters are all very fond of him, Haruki is not immune to occasional inappropriate thoughts about them, such as during a family trip to a public bath.

Haruki experiences subtle development as the story progresses, largely through his deepening understanding of his role in the family. He evolves from simply being a brother who endures his sisters' antics to actively working to keep the family unit strong and content. He shows a particular dedication to helping Yayoi with her studies, even as she moves up to the same high school, and he diligently maintains the warm atmosphere of the household. Haruki’s most notable ability is his exceptional tolerance and patience. His capacity to navigate the minefield of his sisters' quirks, from Mutsuki’s hidden sloppiness to Yayoi’s temper and Uzuki’s tricks, with a level head and a kind heart is his defining trait. Beyond this, he has no special physical or supernatural powers, presenting himself as a relatively ordinary high school boy with a deep love for gaming.
