Description
Saturn commands as a key leader within Team Galactic. After the organization's initial disbandment and the arrest of its members, Saturn escaped imprisonment with fellow commanders Mars and Jupiter. This trio spearheaded a mission to locate their vanished leader, Cyrus, who disappeared through a dimensional portal.
In *The Arceus Chronicles*, Saturn directed Team Galactic's efforts to reopen that portal. A critical phase involved capturing the Legendary Pokémon Heatran within a volcanic cave using a Dusk Ball. Saturn then channeled Heatran's power through the Flame Plate, an artifact linked to Arceus, in an experiment at their headquarters. Forced to unleash Magma Storm on the Plate, Heatran generated immense energy intended to power a cannon targeting Mount Coronet's sky, aiming to create a gateway for Cyrus's retrieval.
The experiment triggered a catastrophic explosion. The blast damaged the cannon and caused Heatran to absorb the Flame Plate. This absorption sent Heatran's Flash Fire ability out of control, transforming the Pokémon into a molten, lava-covered entity rampaging toward Mount Coronet's Spear Pillar. Saturn pursued, believing Heatran's path could still facilitate opening the gateway.
During the pursuit, Saturn confronted Ash, Goh, Dawn, and Brock near Mount Coronet. He commanded his signature Toxicroak to attack the group, confirming Team Galactic's involvement but refusing to disclose their full plans. When Arceus and the lake guardians—Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit—appeared to calm Heatran, Saturn ordered attacks to halt their interference.
The plan ultimately failed. Cynthia intervened, using her Roserade to subdue Saturn and the other commanders. As Arceus closed the dimensional gateway, Saturn made a frantic plea to the Mythical Pokémon, asking if it knew Cyrus's whereabouts, but received no response. Saturn was then rearrested by Officer Jenny alongside his fellow commanders.
Consistently demonstrating calculated, cold efficiency in executing missions, Saturn exhibits unwavering loyalty to Cyrus, driving his actions even after Team Galactic's defeat. His leadership role within the command structure is evident throughout the Cyrus retrieval operation. While generally maintaining composure, the failure to reach Cyrus provoked a rare display of desperation.
