TV-Series
Description
Nyaatan, also written Nyaa-tan or Nya-tan and also known as Sykora, is the female protagonist of the Etotama series. She is an Eto-musume, a being associated with the Chinese zodiac, and specifically represents the cat. Because the cat is not among the traditional twelve zodiac animals, she holds no official rank and is described as an unranked Eto-musume whose path toward divine status is still in progress. She stands about 152 centimeters tall and weighs roughly 41 kilograms.

Her central motivation is to become one of the twelve Eto-shin, the zodiac gods, and she pursues this goal with persistent effort. Toward that end, she joins ETM12, the organization of Eto-musume, hoping to earn a place among the twelve. She follows her dreams and ambitions without looking back, and her candidacy is noted as that of a cat god still in progress.

In personality, Nyaatan is bright, cheerful, and kind, with a strong mischievous streak. Her cat nature comes through in finicky and childishly playful behavior, and she enjoys fooling around and slacking off. Beneath that carefree exterior, however, she can be shrewd and cunning, and she is also innocent but somewhat of a natural klutz.

In the story, she serves as the central figure among the cast of Eto-musume. She lives with Takeru Amato, a self-sufficient high school student, and her daily interactions with him and with the other Eto-musume of ETM12 anchor her place in the series. Her relationships are shaped by her unusual status as an unranked cat candidate surrounded by figures tied to the established zodiac, which keeps her constantly trying to prove herself worthy of a divine seat.

Her development is closely tied to that ambition. She begins as an unranked aspirant and steadily works through the challenges of trying to join the twelve Zodiac Gods, with her experiences alongside her fellow candidates and with Takeru contributing to her growth. Throughout this journey, she retains her cheerful and determined nature.

Her most notable ability is her battle form, which she assumes when fighting as an Eto-musume. In this form she wears a white cat-hat with green ears inside and a happy face on it, white boots decorated with flowers, and a thicker tail than she normally has. Her cleverness and cunning also serve her well in her schemes to gain recognition among the zodiac.
