Kana Uehara is a student and a friend of the main protagonist Hibiki Amami. Her most defining characteristic is a deep fascination with the occult and supernatural phenomena. This interest is so strong that she maintains a popular blog dedicated to the subject, which holds the number one ranking on occult blog charts. Kana's curiosity is primarily directed toward the ghosts and spirits that only her friend Hibiki can see, making her one of the most enthusiastic members of the group when it comes to supernatural encounters.

As a secondary character, Kana's primary role in the story is to support Hibiki and participate in the everyday supernatural adventures that occur at their school. Where other characters might react with fear or skepticism toward ghosts, Kana embraces them wholeheartedly. Her main hobby is taking photographs of spiritual entities, which she then uploads to her blog for other occult enthusiasts to see.
