TV-Series
Description
Lemrina Vers Envers is a princess of the Vers Empire and a supporting character who first appears in the second part of the story. She is the daughter of Gilzeria and the granddaughter of Rayregalia Vers Rayvers, making her the half-sister of Empress Asseylum Vers Allusia, as they share the same paternal lineage but have different mothers. Her own mother was an Earth-born woman, the daughter of the Mars Branch Director of the United Nations Mars Research Institute, which contributed to Lemrina being considered an illegitimate child within the imperial hierarchy.

Despite her royal blood, Lemrina has always felt out of place and resents her heritage. She is keenly aware that her primary value to the empire lies in her ability to activate the Aldnoah Drive, a technology that powers much of the Vers military. This awareness shapes her personality and actions. She is a shrewd and calculating individual who is well-versed in the political workings of the Vers Empire. She is a skilled actress and manipulator, capable of hiding her true nature and presenting a composed exterior to those around her. She rarely shows her authentic feelings to others and is deeply cynical about her own position.

Her motivations are driven by a desire for purpose and belonging. While she despises being treated as a mere tool, she continues to fulfill her role activating the Aldnoah Drive because it gives her a sense of usefulness. This internal conflict is central to her character. She also develops a close bond with Slaine Troyard, who faces similar discrimination as an outsider, and she comes to genuinely care for him. This attachment, however, leads to feelings of jealousy and pain, as her affections are not fully reciprocated.

In the story, Lemrina plays a pivotal role as a figurehead manipulated by those around her to further the war effort. She impersonates her half-sister, Asseylum, in a broadcast message that urges the continuation of the conflict, a deception that only Inaho Kaizuka suspects. This action highlights her willingness to be used as an instrument of power, even as it deepens her internal struggle. Throughout the second season, her character develops through her relationships and the choices she makes, ultimately facing the conflict between her loyalty to Slaine, her own desires for recognition, and her understanding of the larger political machinations at play. Her abilities are rooted in her royal lineage, primarily her capacity to wield and activate Aldnoah technology, which is the source of her political and strategic significance within the empire.
