Blitz T. Abrams, often called Lucky Abrams by his comrades, is a central figure in the secret society Libra and is widely recognized as the world's greatest vampire hunter. A tall older man with short black hair, a mustache, and a goatee, he typically dresses in a suit and tie under a brown overcoat. His reputation as the preeminent vampire hunter is so fearsome that he has killed countless members of the Blood Breed, the vampires of Hellsalem's Lot. This career has led to the entire species cursing him so many times that the curses have accumulated to a bizarre and extreme degree.
The nature of these curses gives Abrams his defining and paradoxical characteristic: his luck. The curses do not affect him directly but instead cancel each other out, manifesting as catastrophic misfortune that indiscriminately affects everything and everyone around him. Probability and luck operate in a highly unusual manner in his presence, always to his personal benefit but often to the severe detriment of allies and enemies alike.
