Description
Kanata Amatsu is a third-year student at Seiou Academy and serves as the student council president. She is an extremely popular figure within the school, known for her gentle, kind, and calm demeanor. Her personality is often described as being very natural and easygoing, to the point of being naive. This gentle nature is so pronounced that it is considered her defining characteristic.

Despite her high-ranking position and popularity, Kanata is indecisive and lacks practical skills. Her ability to handle the demanding tasks of the student council is notably limited; other members have questioned how she came to hold the position of president due to her apparent lack of authority and leadership abilities. Her practical incompetence extends to everyday activities such as cooking and driving, which she is unable to do. Her only known skill is serving tea. These traits mean that the actual administrative work of the student council is typically handled by other executives, most notably the vice president, Risa Shinomiya.

Her inability to refuse requests, combined with her spontaneous and sometimes impractical ideas, often creates extra work for the student council, though her teammates generally support her and find her endearing. Kanata has a hobby of ordering from mail-order catalogs and enjoys drinking tea. She has a preference for black honey mochi, also known as kuromitsu mochi, and dislikes tom yum goong soup.

Kanata plays a central role as the well-meaning but often troublesome figurehead of the student council. Her primary dynamic is with vice president Risa Shinomiya, who effectively manages the council's affairs while dealing with Kanata's whims. She also has interactions with other members, including first-year Mutsumi Shigino, who sometimes helps with decisions Kanata cannot handle, and Noriko Kiryu, who has expressed doubt about how Kanata ever became president. There is no significant character development arc described for her; she remains a consistently natural and easygoing, if somewhat impractical, senpai figure throughout her appearances. She does not possess any notable special or superhuman abilities.
