Description
Maggie is a supporting character in the television series CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon. She serves as the chief surgeon and medical officer for the paramilitary organization at Arzenal, a remote island base where those known as Norma are forcibly conscripted. Her background is closely tied to Jill, the commander of Arzenal, as Maggie is established as Jill's long-time friend and confidante. She is one of the few people on the base who is fully aware of Jill's secret plan known as the Libertus.

Maggie possesses a distinctive and somewhat unsettling personality. Her most notable trait is an unusual excitement or enjoyment at the sight of blood, which she displays while performing her medical duties. In addition to this, she is often described as being bad-mouthed, sharp-tongued, and a little cruel, which adds to her gruff and no-nonsense demeanor. Despite her harsh exterior and unsettling quirks, her primary motivation is her work. She is a highly skilled and competent surgeon whose abilities have saved the lives of many Norma, demonstrating that her professional dedication is a core part of her character.

Maggie's primary role in the story is that of a medical professional and supporter. She operates out of Arzenal's medical bay, where she is responsible for treating the wounded soldiers who return from battle against the DRAGONs. Her role becomes more critical during moments of crisis. During the final invasion of Arzenal, she takes charge of the situation in the medical bay, ordering her staff to prioritize the evacuation of the severely injured. In a notable act of bravery and quick thinking, she intervenes to save the non-Norma woman Emma Bronson from enemy gunfire, pushing her out of the way just in time to prevent a fatal headshot. Following the fall of the base, Maggie is seen as a survivor who retreats aboard the ship Aurora with other key characters.

Her key relationships are central to her character. Her long-standing friendship and loyalty to Jill are the most significant, as she is trusted with knowledge of the Libertus plan and works alongside her. She also has a brief but telling interaction with Emma Bronson, attempting to comfort the frightened woman before her help is rejected, and later saving her life. Furthermore, she shows a professional concern for the young soldier Vivian, whom she cares for in the infirmary and later attempts to rescue when Vivian is captured.

Maggie’s development is subtle but present. She begins as a background figure known for her eerie enthusiasm for blood, but as the series reaches its climax, she proves to be a capable and brave leader under fire, prioritizing the lives of her patients and fighting to save her comrades even when the situation becomes hopeless. Her notable abilities include expert surgical and medical skills, as well as expertise in cybernetics repair, a necessary specialization for treating injuries caused by fighting otherworldly creatures.
