Description
Mizuki is a supporting character in the science fiction setting of Midorijima. He is twenty-six years old, stands at one hundred eighty-one centimeters, and has short maroon hair and green eyes. Mizuki serves as the leader of Dry Juice, the largest Ribsteez team in the district, and also owns and operates a tattoo parlor and bar named Black Needle. His role in the story is that of a local figure who commands respect within the neighborhood and acts as a friend and occasional ally to the protagonist, Aoba Seragaki. Mizuki has tried multiple times to recruit Aoba into his Ribsteez team, but Aoba consistently declines, and Mizuki respects that decision. He holds a dismissive attitude toward Rhyme players—those who participate in the popular cyber game that dominates the area—and he values Aoba precisely because Aoba chooses not to engage in that fad. This outlook suggests a pragmatic and somewhat independent personality, one that prioritizes tangible real‑world enterprise over virtual competition. Mizuki is also a skilled tattoo artist, and his establishment serves as a gathering place for his team and others in the community. In the anime adaptation, he possesses an allmate, a small device that takes the form of an ermine, though the allmate is not given a name. Within the expanded narrative of the visual novel re‑release titled DRAMAtical Murder re:code, Mizuki receives his own route, which provides further exploration of his background, motivations, and personal development. That additional content allows his character to move beyond his initial supporting role and reveals more about his history and the reasons behind his choices. Mizuki’s key relationship is with Aoba, whom he treats as an equal and a friend despite their differences in lifestyle. He is also connected to his Ribsteez team and the broader community of the Old Residential District. His abilities center on leadership of a sizable team, his craft as a tattoo artist, and the practical knowledge that comes from running a local business in a turbulent environment. Mizuki’s development, particularly in the re:code route, shows a character capable of growth and deeper emotional connection beyond his initial gruff exterior.
