TV-Series
Description
Murasaki Edoyama is the daughter of a high-ranking yakuza boss. Her family’s reputation causes most of her classmates to keep their distance out of fear, leaving her isolated and lonely during her childhood. She is an elementary-school student with short brown hair and purple eyes. Her personality is shaped by this solitude; she is a quiet and sad girl who longs for connection but is trapped by the stigma attached to her family name.
After being kidnapped, a glowing golden fish enters her body, awakening her extrasensory power. She gains the ability of psychometry, which lets her see the past of any person or object by touching them directly or holding an item they have handled. This power makes her valuable in uncovering hidden information and understanding the histories of those she encounters.
Motivated by a desire to escape her loneliness and to use her newfound ability for good, Murasaki joins Rinka Urushiba and becomes one of her partners in fighting crime. Through this alliance, she steps away from her isolated existence and begins to form meaningful bonds, particularly with Rinka and others in the group. Her role in the story is that of a supporting esper who contributes her investigative power to the team’s efforts. Over the course of the series, she develops from a withdrawn child into a more confident and active participant in the battles against those who abuse their ESP powers.
