Description
Mari Fukami is the wife of Ken Fukami and the mother of Touko Fukami and Hina Fukami. She lives with her family in the seaside town of Hinodehama, where her husband runs a glass workshop called Yataglass Studio. She has shoulder-length dark brown hair, often worn with two bangs that frame the sides of her face, and brown eyes; she sometimes ties her hair in a ponytail. Mari is known for having a teasing personality, often gently poking fun at those around her. She is a supportive and caring presence in her household, showing warmth toward her daughters and husband. A notable aspect of Mari's background is that when she was young, she possessed the ability to see fragments of the future, a gift that her elder daughter Touko inherits. This shared experience allows Mari to understand and relate to the strange visions Touko begins to encounter during the summer of her senior year. In the story, Mari serves as a grounding figure, offering quiet guidance and reassurance without overshadowing the younger characters. Her role is primarily that of a mother who provides emotional stability and a link to the supernatural element that runs through the narrative. Her key relationships are with Touko, whose developing ability mirrors her own past, and with her younger daughter Hina, as well as with her husband Ken. Mari's own development is subtle but significant: her past with future fragments gives her a unique perspective on the events unfolding around her family, and she handles this knowledge with a calm, understanding demeanor. Her ability to see fragments of the future, while no longer active in the present, remains a defining trait that shapes her understanding of her daughter’s journey.
