Description
Edwin Fischer served as a Free Planets Alliance military officer, beginning his career in the 4th Fleet under Vice Admiral Pastolle. Surviving the devastating Battle of Astarte in 796 UC, he joined Yang Wen-li’s nascent 13th Fleet, where his talent for orchestrating exacting fleet formations elevated him to de facto vice-commander despite his commodore rank. His precision in tactical navigation proved vital during pivotal campaigns, including the Seventh Battle of Iserlohn—where his maneuvers enabled the fortress’s capture—and the Battle of Doria, where his execution of Yang’s unconventional tactics decisively crushed enemy resistance.

Promoted to vice admiral, Fischer anchored the Yang Fleet’s tactical core through conflicts such as the Battle of Amritsar, Iserlohn’s defense against the Geiersburg Fortress assault, and the climactic Battle of Vermillion. After the Alliance’s surrender, he answered Admiral Alexandre Bewcock’s summons to command a loyalist task force reinforcing Yang at Iserlohn, prioritizing duty above personal reservations.

Fischer directed operations from his flagship *Shiva*, having previously commanded the *Airget lamh*. Yang Wen-li deemed his navigational genius indispensable, comparing his role to an essential limb enabling the fleet’s strategic agility. His death during the 800 UC Battle of the Corridor crippled the fleet’s coordination, irrevocably diminishing its combat efficacy.

Unwaveringly loyal, Fischer consistently supported Yang’s high-stakes decisions despite internal dissent, cementing his legacy through technical brilliance and unshakable commitment. His absence left a strategic deficit the fleet never overcame.
