Bongo, also known as Speedy in some English adaptations, is a young male cheetah and a resident of the jungle who becomes one of Kimba the White Lion's closest friends and allies. His physical appearance is that of a tan cheetah with brown spots and blue eyes, and he is roughly the same size as Kimba himself.
His background is tied to a personal misunderstanding that leads to his first encounter with Kimba. Bongo initially ambushes Kimba because he believes that the white lion's father, Caesar, was responsible for the death of his grandfather, a cheetah named Quasimodo.
