Old East Kaiōshin, also known as the Elder Kaiōshin or Old Kai, is an ancient Supreme Kai who appears during the Majin Buu conflict in Dragon Ball Z Kai. He served as the Supreme Kai of Universe 7 fifteen generations before Shin, the current East Kaiōshin, making him one of the oldest divine beings in the series, with an age exceeding seventy-five million years. His given name is never revealed, and he is known only by his title.
His distinctive elderly appearance is the result of an accident. In his youth he was a handsome and physically powerful Supreme Kai, but an old witch mistook one of his Potara earrings for a normal ornament and placed it on her own ear, triggering a permanent fusion between the two of them.
