Description
Luna, also written as Lua in some romanizations, is a talking black cat with a distinctive golden crescent moon mark on her forehead. She serves as the primary mentor and advisor to Usagi Tsukino and the other Sailor Guardians throughout the Sailor Moon R season and the broader series. Originally from the ancient Silver Millennium on the Moon, Luna was a loyal servant and advisor to Princess Serenity, eventually being placed into a long sleep and sent to Earth to locate and awaken the reincarnated Sailor Guardians. Part of her memory was deliberately suppressed to protect the princess’s identity, so she initially does not know that Usagi herself is the reincarnated princess.
In terms of personality, Luna is caring, responsible, and often strict, especially when guiding the impulsive Usagi.
