TV-Series
Description
Kanna Utsugi is a Tower Witch and a member of the Ivory Quintet, a group also known as the KMM Gang. She transfers into Honoka Takamiya's class alongside the other members of her gang following the second defeat of their leader, Tanpopo Kuraishi. Later in the story, there are hints that she and the rest of her gang become allies to the Workshop Witches, working alongside Ayaka Kagari to protect Honoka.
In terms of appearance, Kanna has bright caramel hair styled into twintails held by two blue ribbons, with square bangs hanging over her forehead. She has natural white eyes and typically wears oval-shaped glasses. Her face often gives an impression of being angry or tired, though this expression does not seem to frighten others. Her witch attire consists of a bubble gum pink robe featuring darker pink circular lines and a ribbon, with a matching witch hat that has a leaking-liquid-like pattern. A small doll is attached to the brim of her hat, sitting as if it were riding.
Despite her constant angry-looking expression, Kanna possesses normal emotions and may eventually come to understand Honoka's feelings regarding the White Princess. However, she does not have a clear understanding of Tower Witch politics, particularly matters dealing with Evermillion. She enjoys Tanpopo's karaoke performances at their review meetings and, much like ordinary people, enjoys playing games.
There is little known about her background, but she was seen as a student of Muscle Junior High School in a dream of Honoka's depicting Ayaka's past.
Kanna's most notable ability involves the book she carries, a grimoire of demon spells called Black Vice. This book contains many spells that allow her to summon one or more demons, suggesting her capability is to apply curses to people she does not like. This makes her one of two characters who use books for the storage and retrieval of spells.
Regarding her relationships, Tanpopo Kuraishi appears to be her closest friend, and they are frequently seen together along with other KMM Gang members. While she initially targets Honoka Takamiya at the beginning of the story, this changes when Ayaka hides Medusa and the KMM Gang in the Takamiya residence. She later reciprocates by attempting to protect Honoka, though it is unknown whether she shares romantic feelings for him or simply supports him as the source for the White Princess. Medusa is the boss of the KMM Gang, but Kanna and Medusa are never seen actually talking together.
