Description
Arc is the main protagonist of the Arc the Lad series, a young man whose journey begins in the small town of Touvil. On his fifteenth birthday, he sets out to uncover the truth about his father Yoshua, who disappeared ten years prior. This quest leads him to Mount Cion, where a chance encounter with a girl named Kukuru and a devastating battle against a creature known as the Ark Ghoul set him on a path far greater than he ever imagined.

Possessing a naturally good-hearted and altruistic disposition, Arc strongly believes in the fundamental goodness of people. This idealistic nature is often challenged by the widespread corruption and deception he encounters in the wider world, leaving him disillusioned at times but never breaking his resolve. As a courageous and passionate warrior, he grows into his responsibilities, becoming aware of a great destiny that involves saving the world from the ruler of darkness.

Arcs primary motivation is initially a personal one: to find his missing father. However, this quest quickly expands after he is chosen by the Five Great Spirits, also known as the Guardians, who bless him with the power of Spirit Magic and reveal a world-threatening danger. He becomes determined to find a mythical Ark to save humanity from destruction. His sense of duty and altruism compels him to take on this monumental task, even as he is pursued by authorities from across the world.

In the story, Arc is quickly thrust into the role of a hunted fugitive. After he and his friends are framed by the corrupt minister Andel for the destruction of Palencia Castle and the murder of the king, a massive bounty is placed on his head. Despite this, Arc becomes the leader of a resistance group against the powerful kingdom of Romalia, fighting not for personal glory but for the fate of the world. Later, from the perspective of the second protagonist, Elc, Arc is initially seen as an antagonist and rival, mistakenly believed to be responsible for the destruction of Elcs village.

His most significant relationship is with Kukuru, a member of the Sacred White Clan from his hometown. She is initially the one who extinguishes the Flame Cion, setting off the chain of events, and later decides it is her destiny to follow Arc after he is blessed by the Guardians. Their bond deepens throughout the quest, with Arc gradually developing strong feelings for her. Other key relationships include his companions: the timid musician-soldier Poco, the headstrong swordsman Tosh who joins after being rescued by Arc, the ancient and witty mage Gogen, and the merchant Chongara who was asked by Arcs father to help him.

Throughout his journey, Arc undergoes significant development. He transforms from a simple boy searching for his father into a legendary hero chosen by the spirits themselves. He is forced to mature quickly as he becomes a worldwide wanted criminal and the leader of a resistance, sacrificing his own peace and reputation for the greater good. His story is one of accepting a heavy burden, and his actions ultimately enshrine his place in history, though often at a great personal cost. In later events, his legend becomes so profound that future generations recognize him and Kukuru as "the Hero and the Holy Mother".

In terms of abilities, Arc is a skilled swordsman who wields a sword as his primary weapon. His most notable power is Spirit Magic, granted to him by the Guardians of land, water, fire, wind, and light. This blessing provides him with a wide array of elemental attacks and, uniquely, the ability to use healing magic on his allies, making him a versatile fighter capable of both offense and support.
