Description
Gii is a character from the anime BlazBlue Alter Memory, where it appears as a stout, red-furred bat. It is a pet and familiar that always accompanies the vampire noble Rachel Alucard, almost never seen without its companion Nago, who serves a similar role. In its typical form, Gii has pure white eyes, pink cheeks, and a rotund, almost comical appearance, though its true form is unknown. The character is capable of transforming into various shapes, often abstract ones, to assist its master, particularly in combat situations.

Gii has a personality that is notably cowardly and anxious. It is deeply loyal to the Alucard Clan, but its behavior often leads to trouble. The bat has a tendency to speak out of turn or get carried away with its comments, which almost invariably results in harsh punishment from Rachel. These punishments range from being used as a footrest or a shield, to being stretched, pinched, or otherwise physically tormented. Despite this constant mistreatment, Gii continually seeks Rachel's approval, though it rarely, if ever, achieves it. This dynamic defines its existence and role: it is the put-upon servant who, rather than resenting its master, remains desperately eager to please and is terrified of her displeasure. Its primary motivation is simply to serve Rachel and avoid her wrath, a task it consistently fails at due to its own irritating nature.

In the story, Gii serves as comic relief and a tool for Rachel. While Nago is typically used for offensive attacks, Gii is often employed defensively, functioning as a living shield that takes blows from opponents. Its physical endurance is one of its most notable traits, as it has survived incredible punishment, including powerful attacks from formidable enemies and the routine, brutal mistreatment from Rachel herself. This endurance suggests a resilience that belies its small and fearful demeanor. Its key relationship is solely with Rachel, though it considers Nago a mentor figure. It does not undergo significant personal development within the narrative, remaining a static but loyal familiar whose suffering is played for humor. Jin Kisaragi, another main character, has even threatened the bat with beatings to coerce its behavior, highlighting Gii's peripheral but recurring role in the interactions of the main cast.
