Description
Akane Ryūzōji is one of the heroines of the visual novel and anime Walkure Romanze: Shōjo Kishi Monogatari. She is a sophomore student at Winford Academy, an international student from Japan, and a close friend and classmate of both Mio Kisaki and the protagonist Takahiro Mizuno. Her physical profile includes a height of 161.8 centimeters, a weight of 46.8 kilograms, and a birthday on October 18. She holds an A rank in jousting technology, reflecting her high level of skill in the sport.

In terms of personality, Akane embodies the archetype of a Yamato Nadeshiko, a traditional Japanese ideal of feminine grace and dignity. Her behavior is serious and her manner is dignified, and she often wears a hakama, the traditional pleated trousers, even in her private life. Despite this composed exterior, she has notable personal quirks. She possesses an immense and almost overwhelming admiration for the student council president, Celia Cumani Aintree; merely hearing Celia's name can cause her to lose focus. This admiration was the inspiration for her to begin jousting at the age of five. Akane also has a fondness for sweet foods, though she is serious about her training and will hide cakes and other treats to resist temptation. Additionally, due to regularly drinking with her father in the evenings at home, she is a surprisingly heavy drinker.

Akane's role in the story is that of a fellow student in the knight department and a potential romantic interest. Her athletic ability is very high, exceeding that of many male students, a prowess built on a foundation of kendo training. Her dedication to jousting is shown through her constant practice and her love for creating new moves, including a wide variety of deformation techniques. She even wears a custom-made suit of Japanese-style armor, constructed from materials like steel, titanium, bamboo, and carbon fiber, which she brought from home. Her favorite horse is named Sion Sion.

A significant part of Akane's character development involves her relationship with her idol, Celia. Her desire to be like Celia is a powerful motivator, but it also becomes a source of internal conflict. A defeat at Celia's hands in a tournament leads Akane into a slump, where her mental state causes her to lose against opponents she would normally defeat with ease. This storyline explores her struggle to overcome her psychological block and regain her confidence. Her key relationships are with her best friend Mio Kisaki, her idol and rival Celia, and her classmate Takahiro, who often partners with her and supports her through her difficulties.
