TV-Series
Description
Mirai Kakehashi, a teenage orphan, endured years of abuse under relatives who orchestrated his family’s fatal car accident to seize their inheritance. After a suicide attempt by leaping from a building, the angel Nasse intervened, revealing his selection as one of thirteen candidates to replace the retiring deity. Reluctantly accepting divine gifts—Wings granting flight, Red Arrows enforcing infatuated obedience, and White Arrows delivering instant death—Mirai sought justice for his family’s murder.
A Red Arrow coerced his aunt’s confession, but his anguished wish for her death inadvertently triggered her suicide. This tragedy cemented his vow against killing, even as he exposed his uncle’s crimes, ensuring his arrest. Throughout the God candidate trials, Mirai prioritized protecting allies like Saki Hanakago, a childhood friend burdened by past complicity in his suffering, and Nanato Mukaido, a terminally ill candidate striving to secure his family’s future.
His pacifism clashed violently with adversaries like Metropoliman, a rival slaughtering competitors to consolidate power. Despite mounting pressure, Mirai resisted using the White Arrow, relying instead on alliances and strategy—though his non-lethal methods sometimes led to fatal collateral damage, deepening his guilt without动摇 his resolve.
Reconciling with Saki, their partnership evolved into steadfast mutual support. In the competition’s climax, Mirai confronted Professor Yoneda, who advocated humanity’s extinction. Only after exhausting every alternative did Mirai deploy the White Arrow, a grim necessity contradicting his principles.
As the new God’s self-destruction triggered humanity’s dissolution, Mirai and Saki faced oblivion with quiet acceptance, vanishing hand-in-hand—his journey from shattered survivor to finding solace in fleeting human bonds culminating amidst cosmic collapse.
