Description
Naoyuki Zaizen is a student at Kokushikan High School and a member of its baseball team, where he serves as a pinch hitter. Originally a baseball prodigy during his middle school years, he was widely expected to become both the team's ace pitcher and cleanup hitter. In that earlier period, he played as a pitcher and formed a battery with catcher Chris, becoming his rival. His fastball was so formidable that even talented hitters like Jun Isashiki and Tetsuya Yuki could not make contact with it. However, after entering high school, Zaizen sustained a leg injury that kept him from playing in official games for a considerable time. As a result, he transitioned to the role of pinch hitter for Kokushikan. Despite this setback, his teammates hold him in high regard and respect his abilities and leadership.
Zaizen carries a personality that can appear irritable, lazy, and even devilish, but beneath that exterior he is a sharp analyst who can quickly identify an opponent's weaknesses and exploit them without hesitation.
