TV-Series
Description
Hoka Inumuta is a prominent character known for his role as the chair of the Information and Strategy Committee, as well as the accountant, for the student council at Honnoji Academy. He is one of the Four Heavenly Kings who directly serve the student council president. At eighteen years old, he is a third-year student.
Inumuta is a young man of tall stature with blue hair and sharp eyes concealed behind a pair of glasses with visible prescription lenses. A genius-level hacker and computer prodigy, his personality is defined by a deep-seated, near-obsessive drive to collect and analyze data and information. He is consistently cold, calm, logical, and analytical, approaching most situations with a detached, rational perspective and a tendency toward sarcastic or blunt comments, particularly when interacting with his fellow Elite Four members. While he rarely loses his composure, he becomes aggressively protective, flying into a comical rage if anyone endangers his laptop or the data it contains.
Before becoming a student at Honnoji, Inumuta was a freelance hacker who sought out challenges for their own sake. Three years prior to the main story, he managed to breach the formidable security of the Revocs Corporation, a company owned by Satsuki Kiryuin's family, causing their stocks to plummet. His skill quickly led to his capture, but Satsuki, recognizing his talent, personally recruited him, offering him the chance to change the real world rather than just manipulate the virtual one. Inumuta accepted, but his initial loyalty to Satsuki was less absolute than that of the other Heavenly Kings, more closely tied to the intellectual challenge she represented. Later, to protect Satsuki's plans from his own father, a high-ranking police official investigating the Kiryuin family, Inumuta manipulated affairs to have his father temporarily removed from his post. His role in the story is primarily that of a strategist, analyst, and commentator. He is responsible for gathering intelligence, analyzing enemy capabilities, and providing tactical support and commentary for the student council's actions. During large-scale operations, such as the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip, his team is responsible for information warfare, including disrupting enemy communications.
As the physically weakest of the Four Heavenly Kings, Inumuta relies entirely on his intellect and his technologically enhanced Three-Star Goku Uniform to fight. His uniform is known as the Probe Regalia (Saguru no So). This form-fitting outfit is covered in cables and features numerous small keyboards on the arms, thighs, back, and elsewhere that he types on to input commands and process data in real-time. The uniform allows him to analyze opponents and their attack patterns, predict movements, and identify weaknesses. It also possesses an optical camouflage function that renders him nearly invisible for a time. However, the suit's processing capacity can be overwhelmed by unpredictable and seemingly irrational attacks. Inumuta values his accumulated combat data more than victory itself and will forfeit a match if the continued fight risks damaging his stored information. Later in the series, he upgrades his uniform to the Probe Regalia: Truth Unveiled (Saguru no So Shinri Kyumei), which grants him new abilities such as high-speed movement and wrist-mounted weapons that can fire binding ropes, and its transformation sequence contains visual references to Spider-Man.
Key relationships for Inumuta include his direct service to Satsuki Kiryuin, whom he follows for the intellectual challenge she provides. Among his fellow Four Heavenly Kings, he works alongside Ira Gamagori, Nonon Jakuzure, and Uzu Sanageyama, often providing sarcastic commentary on their actions while cooperating to achieve the student council's goals. He collaborates closely with Shirou Iori, the head of the Sewing Club responsible for designing and maintaining Goku Uniforms. During a planned school tournament, he battles Ryuko Matoi, forfeiting the match to preserve his data rather than risk its destruction.
Inumuta undergoes development as he shifts from a calculating analyst with only a loose sense of loyalty to becoming a true ally. When the truth of Satsuki’s long-standing rebellion against her mother, Ragyo Kiryuin, is revealed, Inumuta fully commits to the cause. After the fall of Honnoji Academy, he joins the anti-Life Fiber organization Nudist Beach, using his hacking and analytical skills to provide crucial technical and strategic support, including helping to develop rescue equipment and uncovering key information about Life Fibers. In the final battle, he fights on the front lines alongside his fellow Elite Four members for the first time. In the epilogue, it is stated that he plans to attend university and pursue a career in the IT industry.
