Description
Chinami Oka is a student at a private law university in Tokyo and a member of the universitys film club alongside her classmates Banri Tada and Mitsuo Yanagisawa. She is originally from Fukuoka, having moved to Tokyo a few years prior to the start of the story. During summer vacation, her parents return to Fukuoka for work, giving Chinami the opportunity to begin living on her own in Tokyo.

In terms of appearance, Chinami is notably petite with a small stature, which contributes to her overall youthful and fairy-like image. Her most distinctive feature is her high-pitched, childlike voice, which is often described as sounding like it belongs to a young girl or even an elementary school student. This unique vocal quality leads to her being nicknamed Miss Ultrasonic by her friend Koko Kaga. Her appearance is generally described as cute and friendly.

Personality-wise, Chinami is exceptionally sociable, friendly, and energetic. She possesses a natural ability to make friends easily and is known for her bright and cheerful demeanor. Despite her cute appearance and voice, she is also direct and honest, sometimes displaying a slightly mischievous or teasing side. Her strong social skills are demonstrated when she successfully organizes a welcome party that attracts a large number of new students. She can also be frank, as shown when she responds to a sudden confession from Mitsuo by calling him an idiot.

Chinamis role in the story is primarily as a close friend and classmate within the main friend group, and her personal feelings become a source of tension and development. Initially, she is the object of affection for her friend Mitsuo Yanagisawa, who has a crush on her. However, Chinami does not reciprocate these feelings at first and genuinely considers him only a good friend. This dynamic contributes to early misunderstandings, particularly with Koko Kaga, who is initially hostile toward Chinami because of Mitsuos interest in her. Chinami, for her part, holds no ill will toward Koko during this time.

A significant part of Chinamis character arc involves her own romantic awakening. As Mitsuo begins to shift his attention toward their mutual friend Linda, Chinami experiences feelings of shock and jealousy, which lead her to gradually realize that she had deeper feelings for Mitsuo all along. This realization causes her internal conflict and drives her actions, such as when she cuts her hair short, possibly in an attempt to change her appearance. She eventually decides to give up on Mitsuo, believing her own feelings to be unbecoming.

Chinami also becomes entangled in misunderstandings concerning Banri and Linda. At one point, she sees Banri and Linda together and incorrectly assumes they are acting behind Mitsuos back. Her sense of loyalty to her friends compels her to confront Banri about this perceived betrayal. When she learns the truth about their past connection, she sincerely apologizes to Banri, demonstrating her capacity for honesty and reconciliation. Over time, her relationship with Koko also evolves from initial tension into a genuine and healthy friendship, as they find common interests and learn to support one another.

As a member of the film club, Chinami participates in club activities and events alongside her peers. Her most notable abilities are not technical or combat-related but social in nature. She excels at communication, organization, and bringing people together, as evidenced by her success in attracting many participants to club events. Her friendly and approachable nature is her greatest strength, allowing her to navigate complex social situations within the friend group.
