Description
Matt Reed is the lead vocalist of the American rock band Dying Breed, one of the most prominent and successful bands in the world of the story. He is widely regarded as the rock scene's wildest and most eccentric frontman, known for his unpredictable behavior, heavy drinking, and tireless rock-star antics that often frustrate his own staff and bandmates. Despite his chaotic public persona, Reed possesses a genuine passion for raw musical talent. His role in the narrative becomes significant when he unexpectedly invites the young protagonist Koyuki to sing onstage with Dying Breed during a concert. Impressed by Koyuki's voice and stage presence, Reed becomes an enthusiastic supporter of Koyuki and his band Beck. From that point forward, he actively uses his influence and connections to help push Beck toward greater recognition, particularly in the American music market. Reed's motivations appear rooted in a sincere appreciation for authentic ability and a desire to see real talent rise, rather than any personal agenda. While his character does not undergo major development, he remains a consistent and powerful ally, symbolizing the kind of larger-than-life figure that both inspires and challenges younger musicians. His key relationships center on his band Dying Breed, especially guitarist Eddie Lee, and his growing respect for Koyuki, whom he treats almost as a protégé. Notable abilities include his exceptional vocal range, charismatic stage presence, and a knack for electrifying crowds, which cement his status as one of rock's most legendary performers within the story's world.
