Description
Akira Renbōkōji is a second-year student at Sakimori Academy on the JIOR colony Module 77 and the younger sister of student council president Satomi Renbōkōji. She has long red hair typically tied in a ponytail, purple eyes, and a height of 155 centimeters. Her birthday is February 2. Akira is an extraordinary computer prodigy and the brilliant creator of the WIRED social network, which she built entirely on her own using her exceptional hacking and security skills. The network features a deliberately complicated authentication process. Her personality is defined by profound introversion and timidity, traits that stem from severe bullying she endured during middle school after she was caught hacking into a prestigious academy’s computer systems to help her brother gain admission. The trauma left her deeply withdrawn, and she became a hikikomori, retreating from social interaction and constructing a hidden shelter made of cardboard boxes in an out-of-the-way area of the academy, where she lives surrounded by multiple computer monitors. She suffers from extreme anxiety and social phobia, often experiencing panic attacks when asked to venture outside or interact with others. Despite her fear of the outside world, Akira spends most of her time online, monitoring school security and managing WIRED, which serves as her primary window to the world. Her pivotal relationship is with Shōko Sashinami, who accidentally discovers her hiding place and becomes the first person to befriend her without judgment, helping Akira gradually overcome her fears. As the story progresses, Akira develops the courage to pilot Valvrave Unit VI, a mecha named Hiyu, becoming the final pilot to join the team. On the battlefield, she focuses on electronic warfare and cyber-combat, using her hacking genius to protect her allies and fight as a core member of the independent nation of Module 77. Like the other Valvrave pilots, she gains the abilities associated with becoming a Kamitsuki, including immortality and regenerative capabilities. Her fierce loyalty, particularly to Shōko, motivates her to face her deepest fears and defend her fellow students.
