Description
Guiltia Brion, known as Guil, is a nearly 250-year-old vampire originally from France. His sharp purple eyes shift to red in his vampire state or when emotionally aroused, and he sports neck-length blonde hair, previously longer during his musical career. Distinctive cracks mark his left hand and back, a penalty from the Scarlet Moon for violating vampire taboos. These cracks worsen as he loses energy, spreading to his face and causing physical deterioration.

He founded and led the legendary visual kei band ECLIPSE (First Generation), revolutionizing vampire music. His career ended abruptly 30 years prior after his human friend Yutaka Nagase died in an accident. This loss, coupled with his failure to save Yutaka's pregnant wife Kotomi by turning her into a vampire—an act violating vampire laws—stripped him of emotions and rendered him unable to sing. Since vampire music requires channeling genuine emotion, his numbness created a permanent barrier. The Scarlet Moon's punishment for biting humans initiated his physical decline, leaving him secretly dying and withdrawn.

Guiltia exhibits a calm, logical, and stoic demeanor, often perceived as cold or distant due to sparse communication, a misunderstanding he remains unaware of. His personality blends strategic independence (INTJ traits) with deep-seated individuality and emotional intensity (Enneagram Type 4w5). Despite his reserve, he possesses a kindhearted core, demonstrated through protective instincts and mentorship. He favors coffee, reflecting a preference for simplicity.

His development begins upon encountering Ange Yuki, a 16-year-old dhampir who idolizes ECLIPSE's legacy. Ange is later revealed as Yutaka and Kotomi's son, making him Guiltia's spiritual legacy. Guiltia forms the band O★Z with Ange, Eve Louise, and Robin Laffite, serving as their mentor. His bond with Ange deepens profoundly; Ange's resemblance to Yutaka and unwavering determination gradually rekindles Guiltia's suppressed emotions. This connection inspires Ange to compose "Wing with Wind" specifically to restore Guiltia's ability to feel and sing.

In a critical sacrifice, Guiltia attempts to fully turn Ange into a vampire to protect him, overexerting his remaining energy. This leaves him in a near-death coma, his body deteriorating further. O★Z, led by Ange, spends a month collecting "Blood Tears"—crystallized emotions shed during performances—to revive him. The climax occurs at the Visual Prison event, where Ange's tear of blood serves as the final component to resurrect Guiltia. Post-revival, he rejoins O★Z with renewed purpose, his facial crack remaining as a testament to his past.

His relationships are pivotal: Ange becomes his living emotional anchor, helping him confront grief and rediscover music. His dynamic with Saga Latour of LOST EDEN is adversarial, rooted in Saga's bitterness over ECLIPSE's disbandment. Conversely, his partnership with Eve Louise, his housemate and former vampire hunter, reflects mutual respect and shared history.
