Description
The Mushikari Leader, whose true name is Uro, is the current leader of the Mushikari, the insect-hunting mercenary group. He assumed this position after his younger brother, Mugai, left the group to join the Mushi Magistrate. Uro is a skilled swordsman who wields a Jingaitou, a blade similar to the one his brother uses, and is considered a formidable opponent in combat, capable of matching Mugai's swordsmanship. Unlike his brother's more reserved demeanor, Uro displays a pronounced excitement and eagerness when engaging in battle, reveling in the thrill of conflict. He is depicted wearing a blue samurai kimono and a straw hat, and he wears an eyepatch over his right eye. As the leader of the Mushikari, he directs the group's operations against the giant insects and acts as an antagonist to the Mushi Magistrate, opposing their mission to protect Edo. His motivations are driven by a desire to assert the Mushikari's strength and possibly to prove himself in contrast to his brother's path. In the story, he serves as a recurring adversary, leading attacks on key locations such as Hachijo Island and clashing directly with the main characters, most notably his brother Mugai. His relationship with Mugai is deeply personal and marked by rivalry, as Uro took over the group Mugai abandoned and seeks to challenge him. Over the course of the narrative, Uro's character does not undergo a significant redemption arc; he remains a determined and battle-hungry foe throughout. His most notable ability is his exceptional skill with the Jingaitou, augmented at times by the use of Kuroageha's poison gas to gain an edge in sword fights.
