Description
Moeran is the Archpriestess of the Temple within the world of Fractale. She is a clone of Phryne, making her one of several identical genetic copies, and is approximately forty years of age. As the head of the Temple, she holds significant authority and is a staunch supporter of the Fractale system, which governs society through a satellite-based virtual reality network. Despite her high rank and power, Moeran harbors a deep resentment toward Phryne, the younger clone, because Phryne is more cherished and beloved by others, granting her a greater perceived importance. This jealousy drives much of Moeran's antagonistic behavior.

Moeran's personality is characterized by calculation and coldness. She is pragmatic and places her loyalty to the Fractale system above personal connections, often acting in ways that maintain the system's stability even at the expense of others. Beneath this composed exterior, she is depicted as lonely and emotionally disconnected from the world around her, reflecting the isolation that comes with her position and her internal conflict. Her motivations center on preserving the status quo and asserting her own relevance, which fuels her opposition to Phryne and those who threaten the Fractale order.

In the story, Moeran serves as a supporting antagonist who opposes the main characters, particularly Clain, Nessa, and the rebel group Lost Millennium. She commands the Temple's forces and orchestrates actions against the rebels. Her key relationship is with Phryne, whom she both despises and resents. Another notable interaction occurs with Dias, a member of the Temple who later seeks to exploit Moeran's trust. Near the conclusion of the series, Moeran offers safety to Sunda, Clain, and Dias so they can witness the restart of the Fractale system. However, Dias uses this opportunity to approach her and triggers an explosion that kills both him and Moeran, ending her life.

Moeran's abilities are tied to her role as Archpriestess: she has authority over the Temple and its priestesses, access to the Fractale system's resources, and the ability to command its enforcers. As a clone, she shares the same physical design as Phryne, with long purple hair and purple eyes. Her development is limited, but her brief act of offering sanctuary, though ultimately exploited, suggests a complex mix of duty and hidden vulnerability. She remains a figure defined by her bitterness toward being overshadowed and her unwavering dedication to the system that gives her purpose.
