Description
Papa Mbai Siki, also rendered as Papa Mbaye Siki, is a supporting character in the anime and manga series Kuroko's Basketball. He is an exchange student from Senegal who attends Shinkyo Academy, where he plays as the team's center. Standing two meters tall and weighing 87 kilograms, he towers over nearly everyone on the court, with black hair, black eyes, dark skin, a long face with prominent cheekbones, and especially long arms and legs that make his frame even more imposing. Because he is an exchange student, he does not speak fluent Japanese, and his full name is difficult for his Japanese peers to pronounce. As a result, the Seirin team members call him Dad, and other affectionate nicknames such as Popo and Tousan are also attached to him.
His personality comes through most clearly in the way he plays basketball. Papa places complete confidence in his physical size and relies on his height rather than on technique. He shoots without using fakes because he is sure that no defender can reach his release point, and this straightforward self-assurance shapes both his offense and his defense.
