Born in Berlin in 1981, his path to voice acting was shaped by a diverse educational and professional background. He initially studied linguistics, politics, and psychology, completing a degree before pursuing acting training at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio in New York City. Upon returning to his hometown, he worked in theatre and on-screen productions before a friend introduced him to voice acting, a field that would become his primary focus.

Sura is particularly prominent in the dubbing of anime, where he provides the German voice for a wide array of characters. His notable roles in this genre include Masamichi Yaga in Jujutsu Kaisen, the villainous All For One in My Hero Academia, and Asgeir in Vinland Saga.
