Description
Raiki Gouriki is a supporting character in the anime and light novel series Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist. He is a third-year student at Tokioka Academy and a member of its student council. He has short black hair, black eyes, and an unusually tall, muscular build that other characters frequently compare to a gorilla, especially in the anime adaptation. In the manga, his physique is depicted as noticeably slimmer, though his role in the story remains the same.

Gouriki is introduced early in the story when the protagonist, Tanukichi Okuma, encounters him while on the way to school. Gouriki is on the verge of being falsely accused of groping on a train, and Tanukichi steps in to defend him. That chance encounter establishes Gouriki as a recurring ally and gives him a lasting sense of gratitude toward the protagonist. Afterward, he appears mainly as a member of the student council under the leadership of student council president Anna Nishikinomiya, where he handles the more physical side of enforcing school rules.

Despite his intimidating appearance, Gouriki is gentle, dependable, and genuinely kind-hearted. He is deeply loyal to Anna and to his friends on the council, and he is always willing to help those in need. Other students often misunderstand him because of his size and fierce expression, which gives him a somewhat complicated reputation at school even though he means no harm. His strong sense of justice is his main motivation: he wants to protect the school and its students, and he firmly believes in doing the right thing. He also dreams of becoming a doctor after graduation, which reflects his caring nature.

In the broader narrative, Gouriki serves as a supporting figure rather than a central player. He represents the ordinary, good-natured student caught between the student council and the underground movements that defy the school's strict moral codes, and he functions as a loyal and physically imposing enforcer for the council's operations. His friendship with Tanukichi develops over the course of the series, with Gouriki growing more trusting of him despite the misunderstandings and chaos surrounding the protagonist's double life. His role also provides contrast for the story, since his frightening appearance repeatedly conflicts with his soft-hearted personality.

Gouriki's notable abilities are primarily physical. His great size and strength make him an effective enforcer, whether he is breaking up fights, detaining troublemakers, or standing guard for the student council. His imposing presence alone is often enough to intimidate others, and he uses that presence in the service of protecting people rather than harming them. His defining traits overall are loyalty, physical power, and a gentle disposition that he struggles to convey because of how others perceive him.
