TV-Series
Description
Mitsugai Amagi is the founder and former CEO of the Amagi Corporation, a powerful conglomerate that drives much of the conflict in the series. He holds a firm belief in a distinct divide between the rich and the poor, a worldview that shapes his ambitions and methods. His primary motivation stems from a dream to create perfect artificial humans, which led him to initiate the N.E.T. Project. This project ultimately failed when his creations, known as Players, escaped and began causing widespread destruction. Feeling a heavy sense of responsibility for this disaster, Amagi launched Project Z.E.T. in an attempt to correct his mistakes. However, his plans were again thwarted by the betrayal of a man named Kanzaki, after which Amagi became obsessed with retrieving the being known as ZET. He is characterized by a dogmatic and cold personality, willing to do anything to achieve his ends, and is often seen as the source of the evils that spread through society as a result of his experiments. His role in the story is that of a central antagonist and the architect of the situations that the main characters must confront. He is the grandfather of Kouga Amagi and Konoha Amagi, and his actions directly shape their lives and the world around them. Over the course of the narrative, after his laboratory is destroyed a second time by Players, Amagi appears to soften somewhat, offering Jin Kanzaki a genuine choice between becoming ZET or living as a normal human, though it remains unclear whether this change is sincere or simply another facade. In terms of notable abilities, Mitsugai Amagi is not a direct combatant but wields immense influence through his corporate and scientific resources, possessing the knowledge and authority to create advanced artificial lifeforms and powerful weapons.
