Description
King is a male Jewelpet who appears in the anime Jewelpet Sunshine as a French Bulldog with pink fur, a white muzzle, and yellow inner ears. His jewel eyes are made of gray and black onyx, and he is the Jewelpet who represents the power of Health. His defining physical accessories are a large, sharp golden crown which features a blue F insignia, and a necklace adorned with a black club-shaped onyx jewel. In Sunshine, he is also frequently seen wearing a blue robe with a matching F mark on the back and dark sunglasses.

Within the world of Jewelpet Sunshine, King adopts a notably greedy, selfish, and antagonistic persona. He is depicted as a wealthy and cunning figure who runs his own fruit-selling organization. His primary motivation in the series revolves around his business rivalries and his desire for profit and control. A significant part of his role in the story is his repeated, though ultimately unsuccessful, attempts to bankrupt or take over a café that is a popular gathering spot for the students. To further his schemes, he employs two other Jewelpets, Alex and Brownie, as his subordinates.

His key relationships in this series are primarily defined by this business dynamic, with Alex and Brownie working for him. Unlike in other installments of the Jewelpet franchise, where he might have romantic interests or heroic moments, the focus in Sunshine is on his role as an antagonist and comedic foil to the main characters. The personality King displays in Sunshine represents a notable shift from his portrayals in other series, where he has been depicted as friendly but unintelligent, a fair and emotional judge, or a kind character vulnerable to corruption.

As the Jewelpet of Health, King possesses magical abilities related to curing sickness and making people healthy again. His magic can also protect others from negative influences. However, his proficiency with this magic is inconsistent. In earlier series, his healing spells, while effective, were known to cause the patient excruciating pain due to his lack of skill. In the context of Jewelpet Sunshine, his abilities are less focused on healing and more integrated into his role as a wealthy businessman and antagonist. His speech pattern is distinct, as he often ends his sentences with the verbal tic "dasu".
