TV-Series
Description
Peridot is a female Papillon Jewelpet who appears as a student at Sunshine Academy in Jewel Land during the events of Jewelpet Sunshine. Her design reflects her connection to the gem peridot, with yellow and green coloring, a butterfly-shaped hairclip, and a flower garland worn around her neck. Within the series she embodies the qualities associated with her jewel, namely positivity and dream fulfillment.

At the academy she is a member of the Plum Section and stands out as the most athletic student in the group. She is energetic, outgoing, and well liked by her classmates, and she has a particular fondness for sports and physical activity. She is also portrayed as American and bilingual, occasionally mixing English words into her conversations. In addition to her athletic pursuits, she is involved with the school's newspaper group and enjoys being photographed.

Her main role in the story centers on her friendship with her roommate Hinata, a shy and timid classmate who lacks confidence in sports. Peridot takes it upon herself to draw Hinata out of her shell by encouraging her to become more active and by helping her train, and her patient, supportive approach gradually helps Hinata grow more athletic and self-assured. Through this relationship, Peridot acts as a motivating and big-sister-like presence among her peers.

In terms of abilities, Peridot possesses exceptional physical coordination and sporting skill, which make her a strong performer in athletic competitions and school events. Like other Jewelpets, she also has access to jewel-based magic connected to her gem, and her personal traits of positivity and dream fulfillment inform the encouraging way she interacts with others. Her development over the series is seen mainly through her influence on Hinata, as her enthusiasm and mentoring help a timid classmate discover her own strength.
