TV-Series
Description
Clara Nemoto, whose name can also be romanized as Kurara, is a supporting character in this anime, a student attending the same school as the main cast. She is a member of the Plum class, where she is often found sitting in the back row, a position that reflects her preference for isolation. Physically, she has dark green hair cut in a bob that typically covers her eyes, adding to her mysterious and withdrawn appearance. Her standard attire is the school uniform, which consists of a gray sweater worn over a sailor suit, paired with a white skirt, black tights, and formal shoes.

Clara is defined by her antisocial and secretive personality. She is largely friendless and keeps to herself, which makes her an object of suspicion for some of her more outgoing classmates. Her worldview is heavily steeped in a belief in the occult; she frequently associates any kind of catastrophe or strange event with the influence of Dark Magic. This preoccupation makes her seem perpetually anxious or foreboding, as she often warns others of impending doom related to dark forces. However, this gloomy exterior hides a more passionate inner self. Clara secretly enjoys cosplay and harbors a deep wish to become a superhero, a dream that points to a hidden desire for heroism and recognition.

Her primary motivation throughout the series is tied to this unfulfilled desire. In one notable incident, her actions are misinterpreted as being sinister when she snatches a strange book and is later found with Angela, a Jewelpet, whom her classmates believe she has kidnapped. In reality, Clara’s goal was not nefarious; she was seeking help to achieve her dream of becoming a magical girl. Her wish is eventually granted, allowing her to transform from her usual gloomy self into a more confident and cheerful heroine. In her transformed state, she dons a purple, frilly maid-like outfit, her hair parts to reveal her blue eyes, and she wields a pink staff. In this form, she becomes open, heroic, and actively works to fight against Dark Magic.

Clara’s relationships with the other characters are primarily defined by her outsider status. She is often on the periphery, either being suspected by the main group or stepping in to provide warnings about magical dangers. Her most significant connection is with Angela, the Jewelpet who facilitates her transformation. Her role in the story is that of a minor but recurring ally who, despite her eccentricities, is genuinely on the side of good. Over the course of the series, she develops from a solitary, misunderstood student into someone who actively tries to perform heroic deeds. This development culminates when she is among the first to confront the Dark Queen during the final arc, demonstrating her commitment to being a protector, even though she is initially defeated before being revived. Her notable abilities include her knowledge of the occult and her magical powers as a transformed heroine, which she uses in her self-appointed mission to combat dark magic.
