Description
Daichi Amagi is a prominent supporting character in Inazuma Eleven GO, known for being the largest and one of the most powerful defenders on the Raimon Junior High soccer team. As a third-year student, he wears the jersey number 4. His physical appearance is striking, with a towering, heavyset frame, slightly tanned skin, dark purple hair, and purple eyes. He is almost always seen wearing a pair of goggles, which typically rest on his chin.

Amagi's personality is driven by a strong and somewhat quick-tempered sense of justice. He has a deep-seated hatred for anything he perceives as unfair or warped, and his responses to such situations are often immediate and passionate. This fiery exterior, however, belies a more complex inner world shaped by past experiences. He has a unique speech habit, frequently adding the syllable do to the end of his sentences. Despite his intimidating size and brusque demeanor, Amagi is a loyal friend and a dedicated player, though he is also prone to worry and insecurity, particularly regarding his own abilities and his place on the team.

His motivations are heavily rooted in his past. As a child, Amagi was bullied because of his large size. He was befriended and protected by a boy named Mahoro Tadashi, and the two, along with another friend named Kousaka Yukie, were inseparable. They promised to play soccer together at Raimon Junior High. However, Mahoro later distanced himself from Amagi, leaving him feeling deeply betrayed. This event is a core part of Amagi's character, as his journey in the story involves confronting these old wounds and redefining his own strength. His actions are often motivated by a desire to protect his teammates and prove that he is not the weak child he once was.

In the story of Inazuma Eleven GO, Amagi initially plays a supportive role as a member of the Raimon team led by Shindou Takuto. His role becomes more critical during the match against Genei Gakuen, where he is forced to face his childhood friend Mahoro, now the opposing team's captain. This arc is central to his development. Plagued by doubt and memories of betrayal, he struggles to perform on the field. With encouragement from his younger teammate Kageyama Hikaru and the rest of Raimon, Amagi confronts his past and his own feelings of helplessness. This emotional breakthrough allows him to master a new powerful blocking technique, symbolizing his growth from a bullied child into a defender who can stand firm against any adversary. In later arcs, such as Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone, he continues to be a reliable member of the team. When the history of soccer is altered and Raimon players forget the sport, Amagi is among those who eventually regain their memories and fight to restore the game. He also becomes a member of El Dorado Team 02. During the events of Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy, he is not selected for the national team, Inazuma Japan, but remains a supportive figure back at Raimon.

Amagi shares several key relationships. His bond with Mahoro Tadashi is the most significant, evolving from a source of pain to one of understanding and renewed friendship. He also has a close friendship with Kousaka Yukie from their shared childhood. Within the Raimon team, he has a notable dynamic with defender Kirino Ranmaru, with whom he has a brief quarrel after being manipulated by Kariya Masaki. He also shows a caring side to younger players like Shinsuke Nishizono, assisting them with their training. His relationship with coach Kidou Yuuto is also important, as Kidou's tough training regimen and tactical decisions, such as moving him to the bench, are sources of both frustration and growth for Amagi.

As a defender, Amagi's notable abilities are primarily focused on powerful blocking hissatsu techniques. His signature move is Viva! Banri no Choujou, also known as Viva! The Great Wall of China, where he summons a massive wall from the ground to block shots. Later, after overcoming his personal conflict, he develops a stronger technique called Atlantis Wall, which he uses to great effect in crucial matches. His playing style reflects his personality: direct, forceful, and centered on the defense of his goal.
