Description
Kanon Kusama is a 17-year-old secondary character in the anime Guilty Crown. She is a classmate of the protagonist,樱满集, and attends Tennozu First High School, where she serves as the class representative for class 2-A. Her appearance is marked by short black hair and a pair of glasses, and she is also a member of the school's contemporary image and video research club.

In terms of personality, Kanon initially holds a negative view of her classmate Shu, though she gradually begins to accept him as the story unfolds. She is characterized as having a very serious and mature demeanor, often acting in a responsible manner befitting her role as class president. She is also good friends with her classmate Yahiro Samukawa.

Kanon's role in the story is primarily that of a supporting character within the school setting. She does not participate directly in the series' main conflicts involving the GHQ and the resistance group Funeral Parlor. Instead, she is part of the circle of friends surrounding Shu during the early and middle portions of the series. For instance, she accompanies Shu and other club members on what is meant to be a relaxing trip to the island of Oshima, which serves as a cover for one of Shu's missions. She also plays a part in some of the series' more lighthearted or interpersonal moments, such as when she is mistakenly the subject of an awkward incident with Shu, who accidentally touches her chest, leading her to angrily scold him. Despite this, she is shown to be forgiving when he earnestly apologizes.

Like all characters in Guilty Crown, Kanon possesses a Void, a physical manifestation of her heart that can be drawn out and used by Shu. Her Void takes the form of a pair of glasses or a single-lens monocle. Its ability is one of search and reconnaissance, granting the user enhanced vision to locate targets or survey an area, essentially functioning like radar or a form of clairvoyance. This ability reflects her role as a keen observer among her peers.
